In three layer architecture in Qlik development.
In First Tier:
Data is loaded from the Database and stored in QVDs.
In Second Tier:
Data is loaded from QVDs and tranform the data based on business needs.
In Third Tier:
Using the Binary load the Qlikview file created in Tier II is loaded in to the Qlikview file and all chart objects are created in this Tier.
What is the advantages of second layer. Instead of having one separate layer for data model and again make a binary load. We could have create data model in third layer only.
Is there any advantages of this?
I often use the third level QVD products from the second level and not the binary load.
In the third level I can have different documents: they read all or some of QVD (the model) created by the second.
I do not think there is an advantage in doing 1, 2, or n levels.
I believe that there is an advantage in choosing the number of levels depending on the situation.
I enclose an old PDF that highlights the pros and cons based on the number of levels
