Using variables as column name labels

In Qlikview I   variablized all the column names

Transaction_Date field would be replaced with the variable Ldate

set Ldate='Tran Date';

This is approach does not work with Qliksense when I try using Ldate in the lable section of the column name

‌Sense does not currently support the setting of labels in measure ands Dimensions by expression.

Fingers crossed for V2.2 feature seems like a no brainer to me, just as in QlikView.
