Variable Display

Maybe my coffee hasn't worked yet, but

I have a table object in qlik sense

If I add the field to the table, the value shows correctly.

But

If I create a variable like this

=TransDateNum

And then add it to the table object.

The field shows the value, but the variable is showing a -

thanks for your help

Thanks to everyone.  I was a combination of issue.

First, in the variable, remove the =

Then in the table object use  =$(=var)

thanks all!

What happens if you create the variable without the equal sign? Just TransDateNum

It will show a space instead.  I also created a new variable against a different field and showed a - as well
