how to make KPI chart growth rate change based on filter

Dear Experts, 

Pls see below a sample dashboard: I have several filters setup, using Profit KPI chart as example, as you can see, I would also like to show the growth rate vs. last year same period based on the filter selection made

I am quite lost about how to write the correct expression for this dynamic growth rate. something to do with sets analysis? is also something my boss would like to see.....
