Access Point Category

We created a new category for "In Development" apps and added a named user to the distribute task for one of the apps in the category. When the user goes to Access Point, however, she doesn't see that Category in the drop down options. Any ideas?

IF the user hasn't logged out and in again they will have problems getting their authorisations properly updated....

She tried closing browser and clearing cookies but it didn't help.

I mean logging out of your network and on again - I presume you are using Windows Active Directory? Closing the browser will not help much.

Hi

The user see the app in the general menu, and not in the drop down menu "in developers"?? or not see the app in any menu?

That did not solve the issue, unfortunately.

The user can see all of the apps in another category but cannot even see the "In Development" Category at all - in the drop down or otherwise. Thus, she cannot get to the new dashboard.

I'm experiencing the same issue - some users can't see a Category in Access Point. The difference is that this isn't a new category; its been around for a couple years. I'm wondering if there is a setting in the metadata that restricts the list but haven't been able to find any direction on this.

Cassandra, did you ever get this resolved?

Sorry, David, but I can't remember how this was resolved!

Here is what I found in our installation:

The 'Category' (I'll call it 'GroupA') was already existing, but the user ('Mary') was new.

The Windows Active Directory security group for the application was added to Mary's profile, but she still could not see the GroupA in the Category drop-down on QV Access Point and received an 'access denied' message when she tried to load app directly by its URL.

The QV application Mary wanted to use had a Section Access scheme. In fact, all the applications in GroupA used a Section Access scheme.

When Mary was added to Section Access, GroupA was visible in the Category list and she was able to open and use the app.

From what I observe, when Section Access is used in all applications in a Category, the Category will not be visible to a user that is not included in Section Access.
