Avoiding alternate states

I have two charts the one is line chart with monthyear as dimension

and other is a bar chart with products as a dimension

and I want to have a year and month filter only for 2 chart and not for the line chart which is having monthyear as dimension

I am using alternate states but is there any other way to do this?

Re: Avoiding alternate states

Have you tried using Set Analysis? You could try like: Sum({<Year>} Sales) to avoid Year dimension selection.

Re: Avoiding alternate states

I believe this is the good option unless with in set analysis you can write identifier of Alternate states..

Before develop something, think If placed (The Right information | To the right people | At the Right time | In the Right place | With the Right context)

Re: Avoiding alternate states

can I do this without using alternate states

Re: Avoiding alternate states

If you look Treesesco answer it may helps you. You need to degrade the fields from Bar chart of 2 fields if you don't want to change from selection..
