Bar Chart!

Hi Guys,

i'm trying to build the following graph in QV.

basically the graph shows how many cases (i mean surgery) we did by month.

I would like to have have different color of the bar based on the fact that:

- The surgeon is brand new

- The surgeon is stable

- The surgeon is growing

- The surgeon is Declining

How i can do this?
Thanks!

Pretty simply, but not knowing your data presents a challenge so I make some assumptions.

Assume your data has a date/month and doctor type field.

Create your bar chart and add your date/month and doctor type fields as dimensions with Month first and Doctor Type second. Then, make your expression whatever it is you want to count, say Count(SurgeonType). On the Style tab check Stacked. You can then play around with the formatting but that should give you what you are seeking.

See attached.

John

This is perfect - my only issue is that i don't have category for customer.

How i can define category for customer?

If Customer did more surgery than previous year  -> Growing

If less than previous year -> Decreasing ... and so on

Okay, let's define those customer types more clearly then.

You already determined two of them, increasing or decreasing based on annual counts. Are these calendar year counts, or the trailing 12 months?

Stable would mean, I assume, that the annual counts are the same.

New would be counts of new surgeons for the same period.

And finally Target...what would these be?

Once these are determined the counts can be determined.

Antonio, did John's posts get you what you needed?  If so, please be sure to recognize his efforts by marking the post(s) of his that helped by clicking the Accept as Solution button on those.  If you did something else, consider posting that and marking it as the solution so others will know what worked.

To John's original point, may be best if you can attach a sample app, so folks can see more details on things in order to better assist you with the issue.
