Benefits for forwarding port 80

Hi Community,

I have been assigned the task to find the benefits for forwarding port 80. We need this information so that our organisation may allow the network team to forward this port and make the qlikview access point available over the internet.

Can somebody help me with this?

Hi,

Generally when you want to expose any URL to internet you have 2 option

Either use HTTP or HTTPS

HTTP uses port 80 by default (Which you can change in QlikView using Web Server setting)

HTTPS uses port 443 by default (Which you can change in QlikView using Web Server setting)

So you are not restricted to use only port 80.

IMHO there are no benefits. Only security issues 😞
