Blank values in Pivot table

Hello all,

I have a pivot table with some 8 columns. I always have the value for 8th column but the value for first 7 columns is optional. I am getting few blank values when I create a pivot table with these 8 columns. Can anyone help me avoid those blank values by skipping those columns and showing 8th column. I am attaching a sample file. Thanks in advance.

I dont understand what do you meant by Skipping those columns? do you meant by Hiding?

if you want to skip those columns, why cant you remove from the grid it self?

I just want to hide those null values... When the value is null, I do not want to show that particular column and show the column that has value only is what I meant by skipping those columns. Not all rows have all values for all columns.

The first row has values until level 4, if we do this way, level 3 and level 4 are skipped thought they have values.

i thought you are trying to hide the columns if that column has NULL's in any of the cell's.

I dont think it make sense what you are trying to do.

For example

ABC has data from Level 1 to level 4

BCD has data  from Level1 to Level2.

in this case what you are trying to do?

Its a sample data. I have to list 6 levels of a Branch where all the 6 levels may not contain values.

I am still confused. May be some one in community can understand what you are trying to do.

it may help if you can answer below to the community to understand.

For example

ABC has data from Level 1 to level 4

BCD has data  from Level1 to Level2.

in this case what you are trying to do?

Okay... so I just loaded some random data... Assume the values for level 1 to level 6 are some text values not numeric. They are the names of offices. Its just like a hierarchy.

Branch --- Level1----Level2 ---- Level3----Level4 ----Level5----Level6----Desc

A branch has some office of level1, some of level2... and so on some office of level 6 and finally Desc is some detailed description of the branch. Some branches may have offices only til some levels, the other levels are just put in case the business is extended.  If there is no office from level 3 or so.. I want to stop the hierarchy there and show Desc as last level...

I am not sure if you still understood what I meant or not but thanks for your help and sorry for not being able to explain well.

i don' think you can do that as in all our straight/pivot tables you will all possible combinations of the cells even though that particular row and cell don't have a value.

Alternatively you can do it like in attached.
