Hi,
How to show Qlikview Master Calendar with blue text color for weekend days?
Please refer to the snapshot for expectation and attached .qvw example.
Any suggestion? Or it needs some Qlikview new developments?
Calendar object is not customizable, sorry.
You need either some extension object (try to look around, maybe there is what you need), or a table imitating a calendar.
Thank you for the confirmation.
Disappointed to hear about that. Many of us have limited coding skills. Since Qlik is good at visualization, is it possible for Qlikview to enhance this and make it customizable? Are you able to escalate this to Qlik tech team?
Yes standard objects are not possible to customize.
I think once can go though customize options if possible if not we can raise a case with qlik tech team to enhance this option in next future releases
For the time being sounds like extension is the way to go.
How to code an extension? A .qvw with a special extension can run without problem on others' QV?
I can't help with creating extensions.
As for using extensions - the same extension can be used in many QV files. If your want an extension to work on other users machines or on QV Server, the extension must be installed there.
QV server in my company is maintained by IT. It's not so straight forward to add an extension there in terms of IT procedure, if I could code one (or find one from Qlik community).
Back to the original question. Calendar is commonly used in our daily life. We get used to see a day displayed in different color to identify if it's a weekend, holiday or normal working day.
Why Qlik can't do it easily?
mastercalender:
LOAD
date,
weekday(date) as weekday,
by using this weekday field we get the weekend dates and weekday dates also from front end
frontend::: count({<date={'Sat','Sun'}>}date) we get how many days from date field which contains satday and sunday
as well as sum({<date={'Sat','Sun'}>}sales) we get weekend sales
