Can't open saved files - error message: Unexpected (too old?) file format

I'm on personal edition and am trying to build my first Qlik apps. I have built two different ones and now can't open either one. I get the same message about it being an Unexpected (too old?) file format. I just built these yesterday. Help! Is there something I'm doing wrong or is there a workaround for this issue?

Opening without data didn't seem to help.

Please copy & paste the file into some other location and try to open it.

Uninstall QlikView Desktop, Download QlikView and install again. Could be to do with a big.
