The instructions I have for this project is requesting that I show variance (budget and schedule) over time by current PM. However, I could only get the PM in a drop down box where as the instructions show a line in the grap for each PM - with variance as the y axis and time as the x. Any ideas how to change this to specifications? I have attached the instructions and the graph I'm refering to is the one on the right. Thank you.
Generally speaking, you can show EITHER multiple expressions OR have a second dimension (the PM values). What you "can't" do is show two different expressions for every PM value. Perhaps you could get away with two charts, one for each expression, each with Current PM as a second dimension?
Yeah, I get your meaning. I tried what you said with multiple expressions
and a 2nd dimension and it just didn't make any sense. I guess I will have
to have the information on two charts on the same sheet? I'll try that and
see how it works. Really appreciate your guidance John. A potential employer
is having me a an extensive project in Qlikview as the final step in their
interview process. Would be okay if I just didn't start using it for the
first time today

Ouch! I'd certainly hate to be asked to create a project in some product I was completely unfamiliar with as part of an interview. I guess they're trying to see just how fast you can learn a new product on your own? Frankly, you're doing VERY well. Not that what you've done is particularly complicated, but learning it in one day? Pretty good.
Alas, my help is now ending, as I'm off for a long weekend. Good luck!
Hehe..it feels really complicated to me..lol. And yes, it's a pretty rough
interview process - I just hope I get the job I still have more of the
project to do - I haven't got past the first page! I might still be here
next week.. Anyways, thanks for your help it's just been invaluable.
Enjoy your long weekend!
