Clikview Reloads Failing

Good Day Everyone

I am very new to Qlikview eben though our Company has been using it for quite some time.

There is a company here in South Africa that supports the product but they are pretty pathetic and have been unable to assist us as of late with some of our QlikView reloads that have been failing

I have attached the log of our failing Qlikview model and was hoping on of the Gurus on this site could assit me in figuring out what is causing the reload of our Finance Model to fail.

See log attached

Thanks guys.

Hi John

No upgrades as far as I am aware of.
The thing is that the Finance Model reloads Successfully most days and then just seems to fail randomly on certain days. The QlikView dedicated server also restarts every weekend on a Sunday but the failures are at random. The average running time of this model is 3 hours, so it runs up until 6 hours and then it ends due to reaching the 6 hour limit. The reload is triggered by other reloads that complete successfully. So all the rest reload but they are much smaller and reload much faster, our Finance is by far the biggest model. It will succeed for 10 days in a row and then fail for 2 days and then just run smoothly again.

Hi Gysbert

I found the log but I don't know what I am looking for in that script in regards to errors as you mentioned?

Where can I check the script to see whether it is using Applymap?

When things happen randomly it is more difficult to pinpoint. It sounds like you server may be having resource issues under certain circumstances. You may want to look at changing / splitting your reload schedules and monitoring again.

3 Hours to load? Thats quite a monster!

When you are in the script editor, Go to the Main / First tab, press Ctrl+F the type in Applymap. Select the check box to search all tabs.

If there's any error it's almost always at the end of the log.

I agree with the suggestions made by other users, you/we will need to the document and task logs from a successful and a failure to load so we can compare the two.  Remember that the document log will get overwritten with subsequent reloads so after the reload task fails, grab a copy of the document log, another one will get created on subsequent reloads.  This will also tell us if the task is failing in the reload or distribution portion of the task.

Thanks,
Josh
