Hi All, we have a qlikview service account setup for reasons I forget, likely to let dashboards access our network drives when the qvmc is reloading them in a scheduled way. On the list of Assigned CALs, I notice our domain\qvserv user has no Last Used timestamp for the named license we have on it. But our domain\nprintserv user (nprinting service account) does have a Last Used timestamp corresponding to when it last pulled a report from a qlikview dashboard. This leads me to believe I don't need to have a named license allocated to the domain\qvserv 'user'. (Maybe the qlikview server we paid a bunch for is allowed to run whatever qlikviews it wants.)
Hoping 'i can just recover the named license to allocate to a new person vs try to requisition anything from people in parent company five levels above me.:)
Edit: I don't expect anyone to ever login as domain\qvserv and open qlikview documents. QVMC is just reloading qlikview documents each night. Anyone actually opening documents would be like domain\steve or domain\joe or other people actually working with many qlikviews.
You are correct, your qvserv account does not need a CAL.
