Drill Down group

Hi All,

I have a pie chart and I am trying to use the "Drill down function' but not quite sure of its function.

The initial pie chart shows a region and when I click on a certain slice of that region I want it to drill down to the countries in that region.

Is this possible?

Hi knight,

You can creat a jerarquic or a cycling group and use it with dimension.

Create a group with (Countries and region) and use this group with dimension.

that's possible

just define a new drill down Group with Region and country

then define the new Group in your pie Chart and it works as you expect it

You need to create a Drill-Down group on Region & Country, and then change your chart dimension to use the Drill-down group.

There is a video here that should help.  Creating Cycle and Drill Groups

Thank you for the example.

Im looking for something slightly different. So when I click 'Spain' on your graph it will then show 'Fuenlabrada' and 'Madrid' rather than clicking the cyclic button to show.

You need to use a Drill Down group not a Cyclic Group.

The Drill Down group has a gold down arrow next to it, a Cyclic group will have a gold circular arrow next to it.

Hi,

Thanks for the note. I have this arrow but its pointed up and does not work as I click on it or the data.

hi knight,

You can use one of both. I'll use cycling for the example (i'll prefer cycling groups) but you can use drill down, maybe in your case it's better drill down

Regards

Oops my mistake, it is an up arrow.

To drill down, click on the text or the bar of the chart not the arrow, you click on the arrow to go back up a level.
