Encountered a sharing violation while accessing the qvw

Hi all,

I'm encountering the error "Encountered a sharing violation while accessing the qvw" while I'm trying to save a file in the remote server.

No body else is accessing the same qvw(I've checked in the task manager). Can any one let me know how this error can be resolved as the publisher job for reloading that particular qvw is failing.

I've also created a batch file and when try to execute the batch file, reload is successful however i'm facing the error "Encountered a sharing violation while accessing the qvw".

Kindly hep me regarding this.

Thanks,

Surendra

Thanks Vikas....the command line taskkill /im qv.exe /F does the trick.

I've also found it recently in one of the forums.

Where does the taskkill /im qv.exe /F go in the batch file?

after the reload batch statement or before?

Hi David,

The error is related to failure of saving the file. The error occurs when the qvw fails to save after the refresh.

To avoid that, the above command is used. However the best way to kill a qlikview file is to go to task manager, then click on show processes from all users and then kill all the qvw files being used.

Hope this is helpful.

Thanks,

Surendra
