Error: Failed to connect to QlikView Server. But if shut off the firewall, it works fine.

I'm getting an error during a publisher reload. Error: Failed to connect to QlikView Server. This error is most likely because the server is not contactable or that the account the QlikView Distribution Service is running as is lacking permissions.

What should I do in this case?

Hi stvegerton,

Below are the ports QlikView is using.

QlikView Server747, 4774
QlikView Distribucion Service
4720
QlikView Web Server4750, 80
QlikView Management Service4780, 4799
QlikView Directory Service Connector4730, 4735

Try to open the WebServer ports in the firewall of the QlikView Server.

Hope this helps

Thanks Jeroen, Just to clarify, I should do this on the Qlikview server, not the Publisher server. Correct?

Why have you got a firewall running on a QlikView Server ?

Not sure Bill. I'll ask the data center if this is required..

Start with the Server where the QlikView Webserver (or IIS) is running.
