Export and Import Objects from one Qlikview file to another Qlikview file.

Hello Everyone,

I needed help in exporting single/all objects from one qlikview(.qvw) file to another Existing qlikview(.qvw) file.

The imported object should get appended to new sheet i.e. the existing objects on the file should not get deleted.

Is there any way out?

Please help.

Regards,

Pratik

we can copy and paste the objects from one dashboard to another dashboard.

Provided that in security->copy/clone should be aligned.

Simple ctrl+A in one dashboard and ctrl+V in new dashboard.

But the issue is that if the field names are different then the objects data will not be displayed. we need to change the field names as per the new dashboard.

Thanks for your reply, but then containers cannot be copied

Containers remain empty.

All the objects in the container can be copied->once check the container->properties->layout->copy/clone option was enabled or not.

Or

sheet properties->security->copy/clone sheet objects

it will be shown as empty, but if we see the list box in the container the field might not be there in the new dashboard and so container shows empty

Thy to change the fields of the list box in container and now u can see values in container

Hi Ashfaq,

Our requirement is like - we need to save the exported objects in shared location so that if any body need the same object they can just import the object in existing QVW.

select object->right click->export:

it will save in .qvo

but we have not tried for the same. mostly will copy the objects from one dashboard to another dashboard.
