Export to excel from another QVW

Hi Community,

Wanted to check whether is there any governance qvw to download and store in a particular path.

For Ex.

QVW - A: have table box with Object ID - 1

and another QVW B - this QVW should have a capable to downloand object ID 1 from QVW A as excel format and store in a particular path.

Please let us know if we have such governance.

The Send to Excel option in the contextual menu generates an Excel file with a random name which is stored into the default location for downloads according to the client browser settings (e.g.: C:\users\xxx\Downloads).

Neither the path or name of the export can be changed on the server.

It is not like that,

QVW 1 object download by another qvw like automation.

If you are creating a macro then you can apply whatever logic you think it's good enough, like naming the resulting file with the name of the app, then the name of the object, and a timestamp.

However, such automation does not exist in QlikView as a built-in feature, you have to build it out of QlikView.

There is NPrinting, which is a different software and can be used to programmatically export one or more objects from one or more QlikView or Qlik Sense applications, and store them as XLSX, PDF, HTML, etc. Again, you specify the name of the resulting files based on predetermined values (such as time, date, name of file, etc.) or flexible ones like the evaluation of a Qlik expression.

On a completely different but related note, -prj folders must take the name of the app, so while CH01.xml can exist in two different folders, it can be easily distinguishable based on which folder the file is stored into. Yet again, how this is integrated in your SCI depends on such SCI software capabilities.
