Expression not working

Hi all

I am using below expression

Count({<DateNum*={">=$(=vStartDate)<=$(=vEndDate)"}>}[ID])

total id's count am showing     but when I filter

status=yes  or no

the values are not reflecting

if I select yes   the values should be zero instead of that it is showing some values.
