Hi,
I have read numerous posts relating to changing the colours for the headers in a straight table, however I am still have trouble achieving exactly what I want.
I have 1 dimension and then 8 expressions and I would ideally like to be able to set a different colour for each column.
I have selected the 'Always Show Design Munu Items' on the Design tab in user preferences and also selected Advanced in the Styling Mode in the Document Properties. However I am only able to change the colours of all the column headers, rather than a specific colour for each header.
Any help with this will be much appreciated.
Thanks,
Daniel
Hi Daniel,
Try this: Enable the Design Grid, then right click on your straight table and select "Custom Format Cell". This will show a dialog to set background/font colors, I am not sure but I think you are able to select individual colors for your expressions and dimensions.
Hope that helps,
Cesar
with the "custom format cell" it´s not poosible to give each column a different color, as far as i know.
as daniel wrote, you can select colors for dimensions and expressions but not a different color for each expression. try it in the object properties with "visual cues". this way at least works as long as your header is text and the lines are numbers...
hi
You can't change the colors of the individual column labels. You can change the color of all of them together. You can change the color of individual cells for totals. And you can change the background color of individual columns.
To change customize the cells first enable the option Always Show Design Menu Items on the Design tab of the user preferences window. Then in the chart right click the cell you want to customize and choose Custom Format Cell.
Hi,
Thanks for both the responses.
Cesar - I have tried that suggestion and I can only change all the column headers to the same colour. There is a box stating 'Apply change to', but the only drop down option is All Dimensions
Michael - How can I just change the header cell colour, rather than all the cells in that column, using visual cues?
Thanks,
Daniel
select your expression and only change the background color for text. but like i mentioned, only works if you don´t have text in your lines. that´s unfortunately all you can do
did that work for you or do you have text in your lines?
Hi Michael,
If I change it for a text field, it only changes the rows and not the header.
If I change it for a numeric field, it doesn't change anything.
Regards,
Daniel
sorry, you have to change it to a pivot table
