How to Save a sheet in qlikview with current selections to other sheet in same app.

Hi everyone,

I have an trying to resolve an issue in qlikview. How can we save a sheet in qlikview with current selections to other sheet.

Suppose for example conside sheet-1 as original one with all selections plotted in graphs in charts and when i click save button. It should save sheet-1 to sheet-2 with same selections such that when you are making changes it should effect in that particular sheet-1 or sheet-2. How can achieve this is in qlikview? Please help with this !!

Dear Rajender,

Here are the ways you can achieve your requirement.

1. If you are asking about changes should not effect on other chart then you need to Detach the object

Right Click on Chart > Detach.

2. You can create Bookmarks for later retrieval

Main Menu > Bookmarks > Add Bookmark... (Ctrl + B) > Bookmark Name: type Bookmark name > OK.

3. Create Alternate State and use in your chart, which you want to use for comparison

     3.1. Main Menu > Settings > Document Properties... (Ctrl + Alt + D) > General Tab >

     Click on Alternate States... > Add... > New State Name "Type your State Name like

     Alternate_State_Example" > OK > OK > Apply > OK.

     3.2. Chart Properties > General Tab > Alternate State > "Select your State Alternate_State_Example >

     Apply > OK.

I have tried all cases but it doesnt work for me. since if i use detach i am unable to change my cyclic dimension.

bookmarks doesnt work as i am using macros its changing the fields in other saved sheets.

same with the alternate states.

i am looking for a macro which can change the set analysis expressions in the save sheet so the fields selected will be locked in the saved sheet. so it doesnt change with the fields in the original one.

Give a closer look to "Alternate states" as suggested by Ishfaque

It allows you to have separate selections / independent selections.

Hi Rajender,

Its seems your requirement can be achieved with the Alternate state by Relating all of your object with filters which are on the First sheet and Relating all your object on the second sheet with all the filters there.

Please Study alternate State first.
