How to change fields in a search object using a variable

Hi Guys,

Requirement: I have three options for user i.e text objects/buttons and depending on what the user has selected, i need to add the field in the search box so the search is done exclusively for that option. When the user selects the other option, then field to be searched in the search object should get changed accordingly.

Solution that I tried:  Created variables and I tried to use in  the text object as well as in "List of fields" expression box using If statement but it did not work. 

Please let me know if it can be done in the search object!

I did't get you requirement exactly , your trying to take the user input from the test box or button and search the same ?

If that is the  case why don't you use an input box to add the values ? could you please illustrate with an sample app

Hi Avinash,
Let me make the requirement clear.

It's more like a set of radio buttons and when the user selects one of the option, search object should use a field accordingly and when user selects any other button/option, field to be searched should automatically gets changes in the search object .
