How to remove null valued dimension in a bar chart ?

Hi Techies,

In a bar chart I have Month_Yr as first dimension and Client as second dimension. Also I have 3 expressions.

For Example:

I have 5 clients as A, B, C, D, E.

In the Month_Yr : Apr_16 , we have only C as client. But in bar chart for Apr_16 it displays all the clients. Here I want to show only C for Apr_16.

Likewise across all Month_Yr only available clients should come !...

How to achieve this.

Regards,

Rangaraju.

In the Dimensions tab , try selecting the "Supress when value is null " checkbox

Hi Rangaraju,

you have 3 expressions in your chart where at least 1 expression  returns value <> 0. suppression will not work as you would have expected. try maybe splitting your chart to 3(for each expresssion) or try another type of chart (Straight Table)

would something like this works ?

If yes, just add Client field in expression tab and uncheck bar and check text on axis.

Hi Jonathan,

  • If at least 1 expression returns value <> 0 , then bar is displayed for that expression. Which is fine. I need to show that bar.
  • Even if I split the chart to 3 (for each expression)  I am getting null dimensions.
  • In straight table expected result is achieved. But the requirement is Bar chart!!!

Removing the gaps I am not sure, the one which i gave you is just a work around.

When I opened ur app, the chart is displayed like below:

See the Axis tests. It is not pinned in proper place. The image which u sent earlier displays the axis texts properly. How did you achieve that.
