Is it possible to make a container entirely independent of selections made in other container?

Hi I'm new to qlikview and looking for some help. I've a dashboard with multiple containers. Each container contains a chart and a straight table. What I want here is selections made in an object present in container_1 should not affect objects present in other containers. Is there any way to achieve this except using alternate state as I'll be needing a filter that will affect all the objects present on my sheet.

Will detaching the object achieve this?

In all my time I've never actually used detached objects....

No it won't..detaching will detach it from all the other objects. Here the catch is to keep container objects attached to some objects while detached from some.
