Limit to the number of plots in a google map scatter chart

Hi

I have followed through the Google Map tutorial and got it working nicely with my own data. The only trouble is not all locations are showing immediately. Is there a limit to the number of plots that a scatter chart displays? I have 709 items in my data, when there is no filter a lot of the plots do not show on the map but when I filter down these plots that weren't there before show up. Any ideas?

Many thanks for your help

Hi,

Are you sure you haven't overlayed plots when zoom is farther ?

Good thinking but when the filter is applied the plots show up on areas of the map that were blank before

Control the "Max Number" option, it doesn't have to be ckecked

Ah, I had not noticed that control, but unfortunately it wasn't checked anyway. Doesn't seem to make any difference if I have it checked or not...

Could you post a part of your application ?

Hi Martin

Apologies for the delay in replying. I realise it has something to do with the expressions I am using. I have the longitude and latitude as dimensions and then in the expressions I have longitude, latitude and a third value to do with the cost of maintenance. When I remove this expression all the plots appear correctly but are the same size.

Am I right in thinking that a third expression controls the size of the plots? If some of these values are NULL (which they are) would that make the plot invisible?

I will play around with these expressions and if I can't get it to work I can post my app up. Many thanks for your kind help!

I have it working now - the there was such a variation in the third expression I think the smaller values were too small to appear next to the larger ones. I changed it to a dynamic expression that set a minimum value but this made the application run very sloooowly. In the end I just removed the third expression so all the circles appeared the same size.

Cheers
