It's really surprising, how come i couldn't find a worth reading Data Modeling topics (either in a book/article/blog post) in QlikView.
I can find many information on QlikView scripting and general dimensional data modeling techniques like Start/Snowflake. But, i couldn't find a document which is explaining in-and-out of data modeling in QlikView.
Please, don't simply refer books which are published by PACKT and Reference Manual by Qlik Tech. I will be grateful to you if the answer helps me to understand the Data Modeling in QlikView, NOT in general.
Please, direct me to the right source of information, on this regards.Thanks.
Regards,
-Vijay
You can have the authorized certification mapped Courseware of Designer and Developer module through this training session plus training from a certified trainer.
Hi
Please refer this
http://www.amazon.com/QlikView-11-Developers-Barry-Harmsen/dp/1849686068
I would advice to read 2 books:
Also allot of adhoc questions can be found or asked in this community!
Have fun rocking with QlikView;)
Follow this doc
I am a bit of an old dinosaur, but I would also recommend Ralph Kimball's data warehouse design books for the fundamental principles of data modelling for analysis.
Just i missed this ...good reccomendation
Hi David,
My question is specific to QlikView Data Modeling not in general. Yes, Ralph Kimbal's book is good for general DW/ETL/BI concepts.
The Best Practice booklet from QlikView describes it abstractly. But this material is not enough to do data modeling.

Sujeet,
I feel the information provided in this best practice document is not enough but still it's worth reading. Thanks.

-Vijay
The fundamentals are the same (i.e. Facts and Dimensions). There are a number of very good blogs on data modelling concepts in QlikView (look at Stephen Redmond, Steven Dark or Barry Harmsen). Also about half of the Developer training course is about data modelling and the supporting scripting syntax.
Have a play. I would be interested to hear your opinions on the concatenate versus join table discussion. 🙂
