Need to export numbers as text

I have seen many posts on here in regards to export text as numbers.

My issue is the exact opposite.  I need to export some fields that are numbers, but need them to export as text.  (ex. 0470 needs to maintain the leading zero and be treated as four characters.)

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

How are you are exporting?

Create that field as Text like

Text(NumberField) AS TextNumField

I have done that.  I think the difficulty is when I export it to a csv and Excel converts the text back into a number.
