QV Upgrade in Server

Hi Community,

We have plans to upgrade our QV from 12.10 to higher version in enterprise environment. It is first for me to do this so please share your experience and steps to take care of it.

Note: it is enterprise environment(2 qvs and 2 qms and 4 presentation servers).

In addition to that, make sure you check the release notes for the specific version you plan to upgrade to and see any other considerations that might be there. If you don't have access to those in the download site, request them to Support.

Finally, take into account whether you are using other products, like NPrinting or GeoAnalytics which connect to QlikView and check their upgrade process and incompatibilities, if any.

Priya, in addition to what Miguel gave you, I wanted to point out the 2 QMS you mentioned, be sure you do not get both QMS services running post upgrade and be sure both did upgrade to the new version.  I assume one of them is Disabled or Manual, and sometimes the installer does not update in those cases, just FYI, so be sure to check that. 

Also, you likely want to get a copy of the QMS exe.config files, as there are no backups for the changes that have been made to those and things will reset to the default values, so you will need to edit those post install and put back the changes from the prior version etc.  

I think that should cover things, just wanted to mention these, so you do not get into any major trouble. 

If Miguel's and my posts are what you needed, you can use the Accept as Solution on the posts to mark them as part of the solution etc., this will let others know the info was useful...
