QVD as Database

Hey everyone.

For a Beta we are currently receiving hourly data from our 53 locations on an hourly basis (24/7)

These are financial records and are received in the form of a XML file.

Now i already have a QVW running wich works perfectly.

However it is getting slow as it are completely separate files wich Qlikview has to go trough each reload.

and besides that:

53 x 24 x 365 = 464.280 XML files a year.

or around 1200 a day, wich is insane.(not just for storage space)

So i was thinking.

If I make a QVD files of the data i have so far (say 1 month) and then each time i have new data (once day) load that data + the QVD into my QVW & create a new QVD so that the XML files can be deleted.

I reckon this is possible, if so can someone tell me how its called? because then i can search the details on it myself.

Respectfully,

Mike Cleven
