Hello Qlikers,
I'm facing an issue with QVDistributionService.exe with Qlikview Server 12 SR3. The memory used by QVDistributionService.exe grows after each task reload and it is never released.
QVDistributionService.exe grows in memory until the server gets out of memory and all scheduled tasks get freezed with the queued status.
Does anyone know how to limit the memory used by QVDistributuionService or any setting to limit it ? Is this an expected behavior of QVDistributionService?
Best Regards
It is expected behavior for the QlikView Server Service, but not for the Distribution Service which shouldn't grow too much in size over longer periods. QDS is just a scheduler, and doesn't perform any reloads itself.
You may want to contact Qlik Support with this issue as it looks like a bug or some other serious problem.
BTW what version (including Service Release) of the QlikView Server are you running? Did you upgrade to the latest SR in the series?
Peter,
Recently the qlikview server have been upgraded from QV11 SR3 to QV12 SR3 (HW and SW was migrated). I think there is something wrong with QvDistributionService because it has been growing to 75GB in only two weeks running on the new environment.
Scheduling a qlik server restart will do the work. We do it for our everyday works.
Based on the need, we do it either every day or once in week and we scheduled it for 00:00 hrs or when there is no person using the dashboards.
Which version did you upgrade your environment to? 12.00SR3, or 12.10SR3 or even 12.20SR3? They are not the same.
Peter,
The version number is 12.20.20400.0 (12.20 SR3)
