I have just purchased QlikView server .

does it come with publisher ?

or it is separate license ?

No, Server is separate and Publisher is separate. You need to purchase one more license for QVP

I have a datamodel based on QVD data based on

separate server  . S:\QV\DATA\QVD  this sever is mapped ok .

I get error when a try to load the data using the server reload  .

what can be wrong ?

when it extend or accessing from production. I believe the QVD path should cover with your server path rather Local disk when it moved to prod.

it works when I reload it via QlikView desktop

but via the server it does not

do I need to make any definition in the server to map the external directory

Could be server accessing issue

Dev environment / Test (UAT)

STORE Order_Table INTO \\Devyourservername\S:\QV\DATA\QVD

Prod (Final)

STORE Order_Table INTO \\Prodservername\S:\QV\DATA\QVD

If you look you are storing UAT and you are accessing QVW thru server from Prod. This is the cause, It may throws error until unless you have to explain little more. These are simple guessing.
