QlikView qvp in Desktop

Hi,

It's possible to auto fill (with bat file or other) the server address ?

==> The IT crew need to setup this, before the computer distribution ^^

That will be tricky, but I think it is doable during QlikView Desktop installation by/for a particular user. This is what I came up with...

The field you are referring to is actually a list of MRUs (Most Recently Used descriptors) that is gradually extended with each new URL your user enters in this field. The last one entered/used is shown first.

This list is kept per user in the Windows registry. So the installer must know beforehand for whom QlikView Desktop will be installed. The current list can be set/found by navigating the registry with this key:

HKU\User SID\Software\QlikTech\QlikView\ConnectionsMRU

Replace User SID with the SID of the user in need of an intial value.

Key Item0 will hold the URL value that is shown by default upon selecting File->Open in Server...

Note: I'm not entirely sure whether any of the key values are created by the installer at all, or by running QV Desktop for the first time... YMMV
