Qlikview Mashups

Hello,

Can someone tell me what components of QlikView are needed to create mashups or for embedding qlikview objects into web applications?

Also, is there a guide/document with instructions on how to do this?

thanks,

Manoj Agrawal

Hi Manoj,

Have a look at this site:

QlikView Mashup Examples & Documentation (QlikTip #48)

Thanks

Hi,

first of all you need a valid license of Workbench (check with your partner). Then you have several ways of embed QlikView Objects into an external website:

1. You can use the visual studio add-on (it comes with the workbench installation)

Also you can follow the instructions from this blog: tools.qlikblog.at/QlikView-Mashups/

in order to use one of the possible approaches:

  1. Simple document integration
  2. Simple object integration
  3. Div integration

Take a look at that blog and decide whatever fits better to your needs,

Thanks for the reply Jaime.

However I have seen this blog and what I am looking for is the list of components that I need to purchase for instance

workbench license, qlikview server (small enterprise version or enterprise version?) etc. More of an infrastructure question rather than the application one.

well, in that case you may want to check this licensing document. Inside the document, it says that in order to embed QV Object in external websites you need a Workbench license (somewhere in the blog of my previous post or somewhere else I read it was not necessary to have a Workbench license. However, it seems that some months ago, this policy changed and now is a requirement). Besides you need an Enterprise Edition Server, in order to use Workbench.

So answering to your question you'll need 2 things:

  1. Upgrading to EE Server in case you have Small Business Edition
  2. Purchase Workbench (Like I said, there's a visual studio plugin available when you purchase this, so you can have a drag and drop experience, but you can use any approach you want).

so, basically you need to contact your partner,

also if you have any doubt about QV server differences, in page 6 & 7, there's a comparative table of QV Server Editions,
