Do you REALLY need to have QlikView and Database on one server?

Just to remind you, it's not recommended to install anything else one the QlikView server that QlikView itself, especially no database.

Disregarding the recommendation I'd suggest to:

  • claim a test license for your environment,
  • set up the QlikView server on your db1 machine with this test license
  • configure this server like your first server
  • test everything
  • shut down your old server
  • switch your license to the original license.

To be on the safe side, you should also backup the following folder containing all your logs and settings (assuming the default path is still in use):
C:\Program Data\QlikTech

Hope this helps,

Patrick

I'm afraid I have no screenshots, sorry.

But after setting up your new QlikView Server, you should be fine comparing and copying your setup from the old server.

One other important fact:
Don't forget to set up your odbc connection on the new server, similar to the old server.
You'll need them to contact the db.
