Qlikview Settings

Dear Qlikview users,

I have a problem with my Qlikview script editor. All the script is displayed in black, before I has the key words in Blue (like SET) and comments in Green.

Can you help me to fix the problem as I am new to Qlikview.

What happened is that I changed many settings in while doing:

1. Open the QlikView Desktop client.

  1. 2. Chose Help->About QlikView from the menu bar.
  2. 3. Position the mouse pointer on top of the QlikView logo on the left down corner.
  3. 4. Right click to make the Settings box visible.
  4. 5. Scroll down the list and choose LayoutRescue.
  5. 6. Type 1 on the value textbox.
  6. 7. Click the set button.
  7. 8. Select another variable on the list and then the LayoutRescue again and check that the value is still set to 1.
  8. 9. Close the QlikView desktop client.
  9. 10. Open the QlikView document with the QlikView Desktop client. If the process succeeds you will get the document back but without data.
  10. 11. Save the document with a new name
  11. 12. Repeat steps 2-10 this time with the setting ScriptRescue instead of LayoutRescue.
  12. 13. If the process succeeds a file will be generated containing only the script.

If you’re using QlikView 11 then you’ll have to look for ApplicationRescue instead of Layout Rescue.

* NOTE - It is good practice to work with multiple copies of the document to be able to revert back to an earlier one if needed.

I am unable to open the "QlikView logo on the left down corner". can you help me with that also?

Kind regards,

Abdallah

Hi Abdallah

You will find that you can customise or return to defaults on the Editor tab in User preferences which is on the Settings menu. These settings are stored for you and not in any document.

Hi Adrian,

I tried that but it is not working.

What I did is:

1. Click Settings

2. Select User preferences

3. Select Editor

4. Click on the left side (Text type)

5. Set default value
