Qlikview or QlikSense

For any new client looking to deploy a reporting solution, what should they choose ?

Qlikview or Qliksense ?

Are there guidelines on which one is better for which type of requirement.

This question is coming up very frequently and it would help to have direction from product team

Well it depends on the need of use and is different for different cases.

In simple terms i would say if you want want to let the users do self analysis and want them to have create stories and play around Qliksense would be better.

But, in case you want to have complex data model have them set up by a Developer with a lot of Visual aspects and Triggers as a complete end to end solution Qlikview is better.

Thanks for quick response. QlikSense allows an enterprise server installation with data modelling capabilities. How different is that from Qlikview then ? I am still not very clear on specific use case where one overwrites the need over other.

The issues lies with the front end triggers and with dynamic naming and that. Qliksense is limited in that sense and require nprinting 17 for push reports.

The difference that I observe is that QLIKSENSE, is the next level in the information analysis; If you have maturity, QLIKSENSE is the tool.

You need to have a pretty creative work group and analyst; as well as with extensive knowledge of the tool.

Each person has a different and important perspective of information analysis, covering diverse aspects with levels of importance.

I put emphasis on the construction of the big cube and that is that it must cover many possible ways of interacting with the information and this phase is definitely the basis, it is everything.

La diferencia que observo es que QLIKSENSE, es el siguiente nivel en el análisis de información; si se tiene la madurez, QLIKSENSE es la herramienta.

Se necesitan tener un grupo de trabajo bastante creativo y analista; así como también con un amplio conocimiento de la herramienta.

Cada persona tiene una perspectiva diferente e importante de análisis de la información, cubriendo aspectos diversos con niveles de importancia.

Pongo énfasis en la construcción del gran cubo y es que debe cubrir muchas formas posibles de interactuar con la información y esta fase definitivamente es la base, lo es todo.

there are tremendous advantages to qliksense compared to qlik (modern UI, self service, mashups etc.) and some drawbacks (especially for power users in qlik as you may have seen from comments above)
