Scripting

hi guys

Hi guys

in my query, I want to count the COMBINATION of ucn and  co_cde. so I have count(concat(ucn,co_cde)

and I group by same count(concat(ucn,co_cde)

so in effect I have count(concat(ucn,co_cde) and the dimension concat(ucn,co_cde)

the result of the field concat(ucn,co_cde)  comes back as BLOB (I'm on mysql). how do I change this field not to display 'BLOB'?

(co_cde is defined as smallint and ucn as varchar (6))

Thanks

Re: Scripting

Don't know what you mean by 'BLOB' field ? you mean they are concatenated ?

it is because you're using concat()..

how do you want them to be loaded ? like the source table ?

Re: Scripting

when one concatenates on MySql you sometimes get a BLOB field (Binary large object, I think)

dont worry , one of my co workers said I should use cast(ucn&co_cde) as SIGNED. That converts it to an integer.

Thanks guys

Re: Scripting

try like below.

temp:

Load * Inline [

ucn, co_cde, period, amount

1, 15, 201801, 22

1, 15, 201801, 33

3, 77, 201801, 100

];

temp1:

Load

ucn&' - '& co_cde as "ucn&cde",

period,

amount

Resident temp;

Drop Table temp;

result:
