Hello All.
I have a Horizontally straight table (Chart Properties --> Presentation --> "Horizontal" checkbox is mark) - please look at attached file.
I need to send it to excel as is. i.e - Horizontally...
My problem:
If I send this table to excel (by clicking XL button, on Chart caption) I get:
Date | Sum(Rain) | Count(Date) |
01/01/2011 | 30 | 1 |
02/01/2011 | 121 | 2 |
03/01/2011 | 118 | 3 |
And what I need to show (my expected result) is like the original straight table:
Date | 01/01/2011 | 02/01/2011 | 03/01/2011 |
Sum(Rain) | 30 | 121 | 118 |
Count(Date) | 1 | 2 | 3 |
I assume it's can be done via macro....
How can I do that?
(I can export to Excel and open the Paste Special dialog box, then select Transpose.... but I really don't want to this way...)
Thanks,
Matan.
Hi
You need to create a pivot table in this case and export the chart data as a excel then you got perfect export like you expected
Date | 01/01/2011 | 02/01/2011 | 03/01/2011 |
Sum(Rain) | 30 | 121 | 118 |
Count(Date) | 1 | 2 | 3 |

Thank you Anand.
I didn't thought that's the way..
It's very good solution for me.
It's impossible with straight table?

Matan.
I have the same issue and this is a very good approach to resolve. However, I have long expression titles and I'm finding that in a pivot table, all columns must be the same width. Is there a way to allow different column widths with pivot tables? For example:
