Time Stamp in Slow Changing dimension

Hi Team,

I have requirement like slow changing dimension.

Like:

I have a table with 2 fields.

EmployeID, DepartmentName.

1,IT

2,Accounts

After few days the department has been changed for  EmployeID=2  from Accounts to Production.Like below

EmployeID, DepartmentName.

1,IT

2,Production

I have to keep the track of both old and new department for employee id.

Please let me know how can I generate the timestamp when ever department for employee changes form old to new.

Thanks,

Narender
