Tool to know where does a QVD comes from?

Hello!

I wanted to ask you the following:

If I have an application with this structure: DATA / STAGE / APP, where DATA gets the information from the database, STAGE filters the information from DATA and joins tables from the model and APP, which is a QVW with the final application, extracting all the information from the STAGEs. Is there any tool to know what QVDs loaded in my APP are generated from which STAGEs? Or do I have to manually track each QVD from APP?

Thank you!!!

Hi.

You can add a corresponding field to your qvd or use filename patterns.

Or you can try to read qvd as xml and see if any suitable information was stored automatically.

You can use variables or the table load or table name like Eg:- Stage3_SalesData

Eg:-

Load *

From StageName_Tablename;

and also you give a perfect stage name to your fields like

SalesValue as FinalStageSalesValue

Hope this helps

Thanks & Regards

Hi,
That's one of the issues the The QlikView Governance Dashboard | Qlik helps you monitor.

Check the attached image, that shows how selecting a QVD file after running the Governance Dashboard points to the QVW file where this QVD file was generated.
