Their are many books which gives you a clear insight about Qlikview.

As per my knowledge to suggest one book please go with the QlikView 11 for Developers Book it will available in both the format i.e e-book format too, which provide you a good number of examples with clear scenario based explanation  .... and Qlikview Reference manual will also be a better option.

QlikView Reference Manual is good and free manual for newbie. I would suggest to look around web to find out qlikview articles, videos etc. to start. Additionally, qlik community would be a great assets for those who wanted to start qlikview without having nothing.

Hi Jack,

I just want to add my own lack of knowledge here 😉

It has already been recommended, but "QlikView 11 for Developers" is really an excellent book. It is good for beginners, but it will take you a lot further. You can always refer to it, there are many things that you won't need at first, but later they are interesting - and of course, this Community is the best and quickest source of information you can have.

If you can, wait for a promotion on "packt publishing" - they sell this and other IT books without RTM - they  come along now and then and then it is very cheap - but that should  be no issue if you need it for your work.

I started with "QlikView 11 for Developers" and together with the training data (comprehensive case study) you will become acquainted with everything you need to build up your first own applications with QlikView and much more. When you need detailed solutions or advice later you can search here in this great community or also at youtube.

Another great book I recommend after "QlikView 11 for Developers" is "QlikView for Developers Cookbook".
