charts - excel and qlikview

Hi,

Can people please clarify and confirm that you can't replicate charts in Qlikview.

So here is standard setup of data in excel to create a line/bar chart:

excel.PNG

The chart I'm looking for is:

chart excel.PNG

However, this same format in Qlikview doesn't work and so the chart above can't be replicated. I have to transpose the data like so then it works...can people please confirm is this normal?:

Hi,

Just create copy of the charts and add following expression in chat.

Sum({<Indicator = {"Ref 1"}>}Value)

Sum({<Indicator = {"Ref 2"}>}Value)......

Hi,

This is normal. You don't need to worry about changing the excel and transpose the data. QlikView has functions which will help you to do that  automatically.

See Crosstable in help in order to import data easily into QlikView from your format.

The resulted table in QlikView should look like:

RefNameMonthValue
Ref1Ian1
Ref2Ian2
Ref1Feb3
Ref2Feb4

Hi Chris,

1. Which chart are you struggling with?

2. What format is you load data in?

See attached app. I have put data into a straight table and added each month as an expression - is this correct?

However, its the chart I want to work. I want a line chart fr each Indicator: Ref 1, Ref 2 etc.

Hi,

Great, but I need to split the charts up - chart for ref 1, one for ref 2 etc.

This app will be used as a dashboard.
