how to find Financial year for given date

As in interview I asked one question that what is financial year for given date is.

Date is 05/07/2017

Can any one help me for this solution?

.A financial year is any annual period at the end of which a firm's accounts are closed.

It depends on organisation. if the company's financial is from june 2016 to june 2017

then it will be 2018.

Hi,

The financial year depends by the Company, each Company has his own financial year. The normal way is to have a calendar table (in a database or even in Excel) with the milestones for each year.

For example in my Company, the financial department has a calendar with dates for budgets, monthly results, presentation of the financial state to the directors, etc.

It's just a couple of columns, date and "efeméride"
