is it possible to apply same license to another server machine

In our organization, Qlikview server was installed in one machine, but it was not able access from outside of my organization network.

in order to access from out side network, we are trying to install Qlikview server in another server  and trying to apply the same license key as in the present  server.

Is it possible to apply same license to another Qlikview server machine?

If so, can we access the both machines with same server licenses?

Hi,

No, You cannot use same License in two machines. This is against Qlik License policy.

Secondly your servers will not work. You will get offduty message.

The only thing you can do is turn off first server and apply License in second one.

Hope it helps

Hi Team,

We also have an idea to use same license key in different machine. Please help us with the steps to OFF first server and use license in second server.

Thanks,

You can install Qlikview on the second machine, but you need to stop the QV services on the first machine before you insert the license in the second machine. This is the practice for a fail-over machine - fully configured with QV server, but the services are switched off. If you need to cluster the machines, you will need a license per server.

Hi,
Thanks - MVP
But we want to use QlikSense (not QlikView), suggest the steps to OFF first server to use second server.

The answer provided by Ashfaq is correct, it is a license violation to use the same license on two Qlikview servers.  If this is done, one of the QVS nodes will show "off duty" in the QMC, even though the service will start.

Josh

Thanks for reply.

Actually we want to test whether QlikSense Mobile app can access or not. So, we want to configure it in our network and decided to use the same in our network server. Now not required, concern team added the DNS in network to access it in our user network.we'll wait for user update on the same.

Thanks,
