Hello,
We are running Qlikview v11 on Server 2012 and every now and again .qvw files just seem to go missing. There seems to be no pattern to them going and I doubt there are being deleted by someone as sometimes they go missing overnight.
Any ideas?
Thanks
Same Problem, ".qvw" files are disapearing with no reason.
I doubt that there is any relation to qlikview else (if you really could exclude a manually deleting from any user) any issues with the OS respectively the filesystem or that tools like an anti-virus deleted or moved them.
I would think about a backup-strategy including the use of windows shadow copies (the easiest way to restore such things) and would take a look within the various log-files to find any abnormality.

Few questions:
1. Are the qvws being published to a server or a folder.
2. Can you lock that folder so that no one can edit/delete files in that folder except one single person (ADMIN ideally)
3. What about the document log file associated with that QVW do those get deleted as well.
4. Do you have different environments like DEV, QA and PROD. Are they happening in all of them ?
Thanks
Are you using Publisher? When you say qvws go missing, do you mean from the source or distribution (if using Publisher) folders? What SR of QlikView?
I have seen a similar problem before. Are there any "MFC*.tmp" files in your source or distribution folders?

In general, we can restrict the folder access using Active Directory(AD) groups.
so that we can avoid any manual deletion of our files..
One day I got shocked too. But, my client contracting to support they will figure out. Now, those file visible. LET me ask her will let you why it's happen
I have seen many times, when the app is getting distributed and the Job fails/hung, then the application is the distributed folder disappear.
Maybe you need to distribute the app when the server is not busy with other requests
We still haven't got to the bottom of this but we put file auditing on and it is a qlikview service that keeps deleting these files. Our supplier has suggested applying the latest patch which is what we are trying next.
Hi guys,
Is anyone find the reason why the .qvws are disappeared and how to resolve this issue?
We are facing the same issue in QV11.20 for .qvw and log files as well.
Please advice,
Eleni
