.qvw on AccessPoint

Hi,

There are so many .qvw files on Access point. I want that particular files show only some users.

Means a user can see only related file rather than all files.

Plz Let me know How can do this?

Thanks

Please refer the below thread.

hi,

use DMS authorization in

QMC->Setup->Qlikview Server->Security ->DMS authorization.

After that go in to Documents tab

Documents->User Documents->Select Application (you want to show to user)

go authorization->click on green button and use NAMED used ->search user from directory

then select user and apply.

go to access point and check .

I think your answer is applicable for those who have publisher license.

But I don't have publisher license.

Do you  give me suggestion in this case (No Publisher License)?

Hi,

There is no need of publisher license.

once you select DMS authorization ,if it is selected then you will do.

if it is showing any message (Like DMS authorization is not applicable in this license key) then you can use only NTFS.

in NTFS authorization ,user can see all applications but you restrict them by using section access only.

If u don't have a publisher u need to provide the folder level security.

Below are the steps

Right click on qvw file (or folder if you want to store into a folder same typology of files) - Security then you chose an user, press Modify, Deny all to users that you want don't want to see that dashboard and Allow write, read, etc... to users allowed to see the dashboard.

Hi siram,

I am sorry, but I don't get Security option after right click on qvw file.

Hi Shaila,

If you don't have publisher, then assigning access at folder level will be the only solution for you as suggested by Sudhakar. I did the same with my application.

Add the user under security tab of your .QVW file. Make sure you add the user whenever you allocate the new license to any user on QMC. And if you have different domains under your active directory, make sure you choose appropriate domain for each user while adding that user under Security tab.

But this is a tedious job when you have hundreds of users. Adding each user on by one is a time consuming job.
