This article provides an overview of the template configured in Qlik Application Automation that sends an email with a list of automations without any runs in the past X days. This includes runs from manual, scheduled or webhook triggers.

You can find the template by navigating to Add new -> New automation -> Search templates and search for 'Alert on automations without runs in the last X days' in the search bar and click on the Use template option to use it as an automation.

To properly configure the automation to run you just need to set up the following variables beforehand:

  • variable LastDaysToCheck should be an integer between 1 and 90. This is the range of days to check back in time to see if an automation has any runs at all, failed or successful. The upper limit of 90 is not imposed but keep in mind that run history for automations is only kept for the past 90 days so results will only include those.
  • variable EmailTenantAdmins  is a simple variable with a Yes/No fill-in requirement. This is for when the automation should notify all tenant administrators with the results (Yes option), or only the owner of the automation who is running it (No option)
  • variable DebugModeOn  is another Yes/No requirement set for cases where you might want to test the automation before scheduling it in production. If it's set to Yes then DebugEmailAddress  needs to be filled in as well with the user email that should receive the debug results.

One last thing you might need to configure is your connection to an smtp server so the "Send email" block can function correctly. The end result of a run should look like this:
