App Extension causing high CPU usage by Qlik Sense Repository Service

The Qlik Sense Repository Service CPU usage is unusual high and causing system stability issues. 

The following is found in the repository service logs:

Environment:

Qlik Sense Enterprise on Windows , November 2018

Cause:

Invalid extension schema. A loop can be found in the Repository service log, indicating the Engine service looping on a specific location: 

\\accsourcedoc\qs_acc_cluster\StaticContent\Extensions\._dls\._dls.qext

This is causing high CPU usage.

Resolution:

Hight CPU issue is caused by an Extension can may be resolved by removal of the extension.
