Problem description

You cannot delete a published term your company no longer needs and is no longer part of the critical data elements.

Root cause

You cannot delete it in the published state. You have to mark the term Deprecated.

Solution

The term is published as deprecated in the development version of your glossary. The process is basically identical to the publication process, except that you need to mark the object (term) for deprecation by setting the Workflow Deprecation Requested under Attributes of the object (term) to True when editing the draft.

When you're finished, select Approve.

Ensure Deprecated appears under Workflow and then you can delete the term.
